Why White Tea?
People in the Western World are familiar with oolong and black teas, coming from oxidized leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Less oxidized is the prized Green Tea, which we are now beginning to invite into our homes and bodies. The least oxidized of all, with a different polyphenolic profile, is the rare White Tea from the Fujian Province of China. New research indicates that the array of healing nutrients in White Tea is even more health-promoting than its Camellia cousins.
